Solitär
Solitär is the solo outlet for Mikael Tuominen, known from the Swedish psych bands Kungens Män, Fanatism, Automatism and Eye Make The Horizon. 1989 is the debut album under this moniker.
In Mikael’s own words:
”This means a whole lot to me - I’m opening a door straight into my head for anyone to see, and it’s a strange feeling compared to all the records I have made in bands with friends. It’s unexpected too, even for myself. I never set out a clear goal of making a solo record, I just did it because it was fun and an interesting challenge. And I was honestly surprised when Adansonia Records wanted to release it since it’s a bit of a left turn from what both the label and I usually represent. But at the same time the album totally makes sense to me. It’s deeply honest and personal and it was very inspiring to make it - actually I am looking forward to start the process of making another one. I will probably shake it up a bit and change the method somehow to keep it fresh. But now we are here. 1989.”
